May 2007
Dear Friends,
We have arrived at the end of another successful
school year. On May 25th, we held our
8th grade promotion and honors award
program. Supporters and Child Sponsors from
Arizona and Colorado were with us to celebrate
the achievements and victories of our students.
I am very proud of all our students and what
they have accomplished academically, spiritually
and in inter-school sports competitions this
school year.
As is common among most schools, one award is
given annually to the student with the best
academic performance and highest GPA of the
year. This is our “Principal’s Scholarship
Award”. Our Principal’s Scholarship recipient
received a reconditioned laptop computer donated
by a supporter.
This year we inaugurated a new award. The
“Character Development Award” recognizes both
personal character and leadership potential in a
high school student. Our Character Development
award recipient has been selected to participate
in the ACSI Student Leadership University. Like
the Olympics, the Student Leadership University
is a week-long event held once every four years.
Students from Christian schools around the world
will gather in Orlando, Florida in April 2008 to
participate in this program.
As teachers perform closing duties before their
departure, the remainder of our staff prepares
for a busy summer of camps, VBS and outreach to
children in their reservation communities. Most
of you are already aware that AICM serves Native
children throughout the entire year.
Over previous months, the rising cost of fuel
has impacted every American. The effect has been
acutely felt here at the mission. Not only have
the direct costs of transporting children
increased, but the costs of feeding them and
other essentials are increasing as a result of
climbing fuel prices.
To maintain our level of ministry and contact
with the children requires your help. If it is
within your ability, I am asking that you send
AICM an extra financial gift in the month of
June to help with the cost of fuel, food and
essentials for our Summer Enrichment Programs.
Your gift will not only determine the number of
children we see this summer, but our readiness
to begin school again in August.
May God bless you and keep you in His care.
In His Service,
Roger Nosker
