AICM's 5 Year Vision
Picture
The American Indian Christian Mission exists to:
Evangelize and Equip Native Americans for Christ.

I. The America Indian Christian Mission will continue to provide a quality
Christian education for Apache and Navajo children

We intend to continue to operate a boarding school, because many of our students need a safe, stable and wholesome environment. Child abuse and neglect is not uncommon on the reservations.  Our staff love and care for our students.  They do Bible devotions with them, help with their homework, have some family style dinners and play games with them during                free time.

We offer 3rd – 8th grade classes for the 2016 -2017 school year.

In the past AICM housed students who graduate from the 8th grade so that they could attend the Show Low High School.  We currently do not have the funds to provide this option.  We may provide this service again someday if contributions increase to what they were in the past.  We will just have to see what the Lord provides.

II.  The Apache Christian Connection “Blue Bus” will continue to operate on the

Fort Apache Reservation.

The ACC bus will be going to many locations throughout the reservation, several times during the week and most weekends, year round.

We will continue to take Ministry Teams out on the buses so that they can work with the kids on the reservation (do VBS like programs).

ACC will do distributions to families that need food, clothing or other supplies.

ACC will participate in the Christmas parades on the reservation and other community events.

We will look for new neighborhoods and revisit old ones that we have not been to in a while so that we can minister to more  children and their parents.

III.  We want to strengthen our ties with the White Mountain Apache Christian Church which is located in Whiteriver (the main settlement on the Fort Apache Reservation).

We will continue to attend church services and participate in church related activities on the Reservation.

Some Ministry Teams like to attend a Sunday morning service on the reservation. We will continue to take them to WMACC (unless they request somewhere else).

We will continue to encourage kids and families that we visit with on the ACC bus trips to attend WMACC.

WMACC has agreed to follow up on kids who get baptized on our campus.

IV.  "New Vision in Outreach” Program.

This program involves helping people on the reservations with both spiritual and physical needs.  For many years we have   strived to help the next generation of Apache and Navajo people know Christ and receive a good education so that they can do well in life.  However, there are also many adults and young people on the reservations that need Christ and need                assistance to improve their lives.

On the Fort Apache Reservation, we have initiated the: “Apache Community Development Program” to help improve the Apache neighborhoods. We sought out advice from Apache community leaders, regarding what the greatest needs are on the reservation.  Part of this new vision includes finding ways that the Apaches can help themselves.   We want to help them find jobs and start new business - a very big need on the reservation.

Note:  We do not intend to draw from funds that go towards our other ministries to support this new program.  We want the Apache people to use their skills and resources as much as possible, so that they do not become overly dependent on us.  However, we will need more churches and individuals to partner with us financially, because we will need some additional money to help start projects on the reservations (supplement what they can not supply).
